Please join us for our May DOVIA-LA Membership Meeting: Best Practices for Volunteer Recruitment

On Friday, May 17th, enjoy coffee and bagels while networking with other DOVIA-LA members. Our meeting features a discussion about volunteer recruitment with Denise Flaten, Signature Project Coordinator at L.A. Works.

Volunteers.  You need ‘em, but where do you get ‘em? And how? Through fun activities, group discussion, and a review of your current materials, this meeting will spark new ideas and share best practices. Participants should bring a printed copy of one of their organization’s calls for volunteers.

Please feel free to share this event with any other volunteer engagement and non-profit professionals in the Los Angeles Area who may be interested in our organization!

Our featured speaker is Denise Flaten,   Signature Project Coordinator, L.A. Works. Denise Flaten has been telling people what to do since she was a child and now gets paid to do so as a Volunteer Manager. She currently works at L.A. Works, LA’s largest volunteer organization, and has previously worked with Young Storytellers, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Phoenix, and too many churches to count. One of her specialties is recruitment and she’ll be sharing actionable tactics and leading probing activities on how to reel in volunteers. Check out her LinkedIn.
