July DOVIA-LA Meeting

Liberatory Workplaces: Cultivating Anti-Racism in Volunteer Programs

Friday, July 24th, 2020

9:30am - 12:00pm

Join DOVIA-LA and other Los Angeles-area volunteer engagement professionals for a virtual convening which will feature an interactive workshop to support participants in understanding the dynamics of white dominant culture as it shows up in the workplace, and will explore tangible practices, norms, and policies that organizations can enact to make the workplace and volunteer programs more inclusive, liberatory and justice centered. Participants will have multiple opportunities to connect and gain feedback from DOVIA-LA members and guests.

The heart of this workshop will be guided by Christine Margiotta, Executive Director of Service Venture Partners Los Angeles (SVPLA). Christine Margiotta is passionate about channeling our collective power to create enduring justice and community. As Executive Director of SVP Los Angeles, she brings together nonprofit, community, and foundation leaders to fuel systemic transformation, facilitating mutual learning, deep connection, and synergistic collaboration. Learn more about Christine here and SVPLA here.
